Fernando Alonso Optimistic To Face The Chinese Grand Prix After A Third Position In Qualification

JAKARTA - Veteran racer Fernando Alonso of the Aston Martin team is looking with optimism ahead ahead ahead of the main race of the Chinese Grand Prix after winning third place in the qualifying session held at the Shanghai International Circuit on Saturday, April 20.

Alonso, who secured third place on the grid, confirmed that his team will not relax its enthusiasm in an effort to achieve better results in the race scheduled for Sunday at 14.00 WIB.

"I think the car has improved since this morning, we made some set-up changes, and let's see tomorrow if we can make it a point," Alonso said.

Despite facing challenges in the Sprint race session, Alonso remains confident because of the better and more effective car arrangements from his team. In addition, changes to the rules related to the Sprint race were also highlighted by Alonso, who emphasized the team's ability to adjust car arrangements after the Sprint session, something previously not allowed.

"I think the same goes for everyone... Racers and teams can still make small changes to the set-up," Alonso explained.

Although not sure about the final result on Sunday, Alonso praised Aston Martin's hard efforts in the fight against their rivals.

"We are not giving up, we are not yet in the position we want, but we continue to try," said Alonso.
