Red Economy Interested In Recruiting Wilda Nurfadhilah

JAKARTA South Korean volleyball team manager Red Totaling, Ko Hee-jin, is interested in signing Indonesian national team player, Wilda Siti Nurfadilah Sugandi.

He conveyed this at a press conference at the Office of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 17, 2024, evening WIB.

"There is an Indonesian player named Wilda (Nurfadhilah). I watched him. I watched a video of him with the Indonesian national team and I was interested in him," said Hee-jin.

Hee-jin will observe Wilda's performance when she leads Redmen against Indonesia All Stars in an exhibition match at the Indonesia Arena, Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Wilda, who is a former captain of the Indonesian national team, will be part of the Indonesia All Stars squad in the match.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, said that his party would continue to try to encourage Indonesian athletes to take part abroad.

"So that the promotion of Indonesia and its sports increases in other countries and the experience of athletes will certainly be much more developed. You see, there are differences when playing in the national league and foreign league," said Dito.

Redmen previously brought in Indonesian volleyball player, Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi, in July 2023. Together with Megawati, they managed to penetrate the semifinals of the South Korean Volleyball playoffs.

During the regular season at the highest level of the South Korean volleyball league, Megawati impressed. In addition, her presence contributed to the team's popularity.
