Terzic And Can's Optimism Doesn't Fade Even Though Dortmund Loses To Atletico Madrid

JAKARTA - Borussia Dortmund coach, Edin Terzic, remains optimistic about his team's chance to advance to the semifinals of the Champions League despite a narrow 1-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the quarter-finals at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Thursday, 11 April morning WIB.

Terzic menyatakan bahwa meskipun awal pertandingan tidak sesuai harapan, dengan dua gol cepat oleh Rodrigo De Paul dan Samuel Lino dari kesalahan pertahanan Dortmund, namun timnya menunjukkan reaksi yang positif di babak kedua dengan gol Sebastian Haller.

"I'm sure the door is still open to us. Even though we gave them two goals easily, we showed our ability in the second half," Terzic said on the club's official website.

Dortmund midfielder Emre Can also voiced similar optimism, stressing that "all are still open" ahead of the second leg against Los Rojiblancos at Signal Iduna Park.

Haller's last-minute goal was recognized by Can as proof of his team's enthusiasm and persistence. He stated that even though they could have lost big in the first half, Dortmund managed to get up and even equalized to 2-2.

Before fighting Atletico Madrid again, Dortmund will have a Bundesliga match against Borussia Monchengladbach in Borussia-Park, Saturday, April 13.
