JAKARTA The All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) has set a target to have eight football fields at the national training center facility located in the capital city of Nusantara, Indonesia's new capital city, by 2026.

In an official statement quoted from the PSSI website in Jakarta on Tuesday, PSSI stated its commitment to complement the training center with eight fields and the best facilities to support the development of football at all levels.

The construction of this facility is supported by funds from the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) through the FIFA Forward Program of 5.65 million US dollars. This program has played an important role in the development of football infrastructure in Indonesia.

"PSSI and FIFA have worked together to improve national football and develop young players through various initiatives, including infrastructure development, women's football, and grassroots development," PSSI said in a statement.

This collaboration also involves support from local governments to improve major training facilities in the capital city of Nusantara, reflecting significant steps in developing the achievements of Indonesian football.

In addition to infrastructure development, PSSI is also involved in the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS) program to improve the identification and development of football talent in Indonesia. Since 2022, PSSI has trained 34 regional technical directors to focus on developing young players and training coaches.

In 2024, the focus of this program will shift to training technical directors in developing talented players effectively, marking PSSI's commitment to achieving the full potential of Indonesian football.
