Bagas Kaffa Optimistic Indonesian U-23 National Team Capai Target In The 2024 U-23 Asian Cup

JAKARTA - The U-23 Indonesian national team player, Bagas Kaffa, is not afraid to face the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup which will be held on April 15-3 May 2024 in Qatar.

He put high optimism that Garuda Muda could achieve the target charged by PSSI.

"Of course we have to be confident and have to be sure that we can and can afford it. We do our best, we will try our best," said Bagas Kaffa.

As is known, the federation targets the U-23 Indonesian national team to qualify from the group stage or to the last eight.

In fact, Garuda Muda is expected to advance further into the semifinals to open up opportunities to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

You see, at least the U-23 Indonesian national team must be ranked third in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup to get an automatic ticket with champions and runners-up to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

If it stops in fourth place in the tournament, Garuda Muda still has a chance to go to the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, they have to win in the play-off match against the African representatives.

In the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup, Indonesia U-23 joined in Group A with the hosts Qatar, Australia, and Jordan.

Before playing their first match in Group A against Qatar on April 15, 2024, Garuda Muda is currently undergoing a training camp in Dubai from April 1 to April 10, 2024.

In addition to training, the U-23 Indonesian national team is also scheduled to conduct two trials at the training camp.

The first trial was completed against Saudi Arabia on April 5, 2024 at The Sevens Stadiun, Dubai. The U-23 Indonesian national team lost 1-3.

Then, the second trial will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 in the same place against the United Arab Emirates.

So far, Bagas Kaffa assesses that the training camp has run smoothly without problems. So, there is great hope that it can perform optimally in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup.

"I don't think there are any problems. The weather is also good. Everything is quite good. We are preparing well, hopefully the results will also be good," said the Barito Putera player.

Meanwhile, Shin Tae-yong has provided various variations of training at the training camp, starting from Rondo, core, and tactical.

In the second trial later, the South Korean coach has even entered to strengthen the first team. He plans to play the main squad against the United Arab Emirates.

Things are different when appearing against Saudi Arabia. Shin Tae-yong played almost all the players because he wanted to see the condition of his troops.
