Atletico Madrid Get Free Players From Barcelona

JAKARTA - Atletico Madrid will get Barcelona defender Marcos Alonso for free. Alonso's contract ended after the competition and Barca did not extend it.

Alonso will leave Barca after two years of defending this elite La Liga Spanish club. Barca also did not renew the 33-year-old defender's contract so he was free of transfer.

However, Alonso will not be unemployed after Barca. Atletico, one of Barca's rivals in the domestic competition, will recruit the former Chelsea defender. According to football-espana, Atletico has reached an agreement with Alonso.

Only the deal is still not final. This means that the agreement can be canceled if Alonso accepts an offer from another club.

Likewise, Los Colchoneros could cancel the contract if they reach an agreement with other players who occupy the position behind.

Alonso is actually one of the layer players who was regularly fielded last season. He usually occupies the center back position.

But Alonso also coated Alejandro Balde who played as a left-back.

In his Barca debut, Alonso played a role in leading the Blaugrana to win the 2023 Spanish La Liga. This is Barca's first trophy since 2019.

However, this season, Alonso suffered an injury that required him to undergo surgery.
