Two Big Targets Of Fajar/Rian Before The 2024 Paris Olympics

Fajar/Rian have already signed the All England title this year (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA - Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto are eyeing a title at the 2024 Badminton Asia Championship (BAC) and Indonesia Open 2024 in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The 2024 BAC will take place in Ningbo, China, on April 9-14, 2024. Meanwhile, the Indonesia Open 2024 will be held at Istora, Senayan, Jakarta, on June 4-9, 2024 or approximately two weeks before the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"Indonesia Open 2024 is one of the targets between. There is also Badminton Asia (Championship) which is no less important because we have never won the tournament," said Rian.

Fajar/Rian this year have received a prestigious title in the world's oldest badminton event, All England 2024. They won the event in two consecutive years aka back-to-back.

Thus, the world's former number one pair can be more confident in adding to the title collection in several tournaments ahead before going to France.

"We will definitely try our best to prepare ourselves better. Most importantly, we must be able to maintain physical condition and peak performance so that we can perform better, especially later at the 2024 Paris Olympics," said Rian.

Fajar/Rian are currently in a safe position in the qualifying position for the 2024 Paris Olympics. They are in seventh position and are just chasing the top four to be seeded in Paris later.

Fajar said that to be a seed, major tournaments like the Indonesia Open 2024 were very important for them. The big points obtained from the event will automatically boost their position.

"Certainly this is one of the targets this year because the points are very influential for matching at the Olympics. So, the preparations must be more focused because they have never received a title," he said.

The Indonesia Open 2024 will still be held at Istora Senayan after there was a plan to move it to the Indonesia Arena. However, there are technical problems that prevent the plan from being realized.

Tickets for the Indonesia Open 2024 will be sold online on April 26, 2024 starting at 13.00 WIB. In total, there are three ticket categories sold by the organizing committee.
