Coming To Cerezo Osaka, Justin Hubner Admits He Has Passed Matang's Calculation

Justin Hubner joins Cerezo Osaka (VOI/Ulfa Gusti).

JAKARTA - The naturalized player of the Indonesian national team, Justin Hubner, chose to continue his career at the J1 League club, Cerezo Osaka, after previously playing for Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Hubner chose to join the Japanese club on loan until December 2024. Hubner's decision to leave England was quite surprising.

The reason is, Hubner's name was listed on the official Premier League website this season when he was still joining Wolves' main squad.

The decision to move to Japan called Hubner was not without reason. He chose Cerezo Osaka in the midst of the many club options that wanted him, including a club from Europe.

This situation approached Hubner after he defended the Indonesian national team in the 2023 Asian Cup. With so many offers, Hubner said he had conducted research and careful considerations to make choices.

"After yesterday's 2023 Asian Cup, I got a lot of choices from other clubs in Europe and Asia, including Cerezo Osaka," Justin Hubner said at the club's introduction in the Central Jakarta area on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

"I have researched all the clubs that are interested in me. In the end I was very interested in going to Cerezo Osaka," he said.

After making the choice, Hubner thinks Cerezo Osaka is the most appropriate club for him.

"I was very happy when I got an offer from Cerezo Osaka. Now, I am very happy to join this team," he said.

Justin Hubner will wear the number 28 jersey at Cerezo Osaka. Currently, Cerezo Osaka is competing at the top of the J1 League, which has only played four games.

Akio Kogiku's team collected eight points from two wins and two defeats.

Justin Hubner plans to make his Cerezo Osaka debut after the 2026 World Cup Qualification FIFA Matchday with the Indonesian national team that will face Vietnam.
