JAKARTA - The chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, has signed a naturalization document on behalf of Ragnar Oratmangoen, Thom Haye, and Maarten Paes.

This means that the three players are now just waiting for the Presidential Decree (Keppres). After the Presidential Decree is issued, they will continue the following process, namely taking the oath of Indonesian citizens (WNI).

Furthermore, Ragnar, Thom, and Maarten waited for their Indonesian ID cards and Passports to be issued while taking care of the transition of the federation.

"Alhamdulillah, the documents of the three players have been signed (by the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani)," said Menpora Dito Ariotedjo.

Previously, the application for citizenship of the three players was approved by Commission X and Commission III of the DPR RI on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

PSSI also appreciated the assistance of the DPR RI so far which made the naturalization of the three players smooth.

"PSSI also thanks Commission X and Commission III of the DPR RI who have always helped PSSI regarding the naturalization program."

"Thank you also to the Chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani, who has signed this request for citizenship," said PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi.

PSSI will follow the next naturalization process in accordance with applicable regulations.

Indonesian football lovers certainly hope that the process of citizenship between Ragnar, Thom and Maarten can be completed before the Indonesian national team training camp on March 17, 2024.

The problem is, the three players are already included in the Garuda Squad which will face Vietnam in the 2026 World Cup Qualification on March 21, 2024 (Bung Karno Stadium Main) and March 26, 2024 (My Dinh Stadium).
