All England Results 2024: Leo/Daniel Home Early

Leo/Daniel ran aground in the first round of All England 2024 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA The men's doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin returned home early in the first round of All England 2024.

The 2019 junior world champion gave up on the gold medalists at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Lee Yang/Wang Chi Lin, two straight games 19-21 and 19-21 at Utilita Arena, Birmingham, England, Wednesday, March 13, 2024, WIB night.

Daniel said that this defeat could not be separated from the many mistakes they made, both in the first and second games.

"We had the lead and were finally overtaken, both in the first and second games. We really shouldn't be careless and can handle the situation, especially since the opponent is also playing well. This is another introspection," he said.

Leo/Daniel actually have a good record against the Chinese Taipei representative. At their only meeting at the Hong Kong Open 2023, Leo/Daniel came out victorious.

Leo explained that apart from making a lot of mistakes on their own, they were also provoked by opponents to play drive-drive.

"We should have been able to take advantage of the situation on the ground earlier, but unfortunately we didn't succeed. We should have been able to play more variations by lifting the ball, keeping the ball away from the opponent," he said.
