The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) disbursed funds of Rp36 billion to support the qualification of 10 sports to qualify for the 2024 Paris Paralympics.

The signing of the cooperation agreement was carried out between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Indonesian National Paralympic Committee (NPC) at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Office, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

"Today we have signed a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Youth and NPC Indonesia regarding the 2024 Paris Paralympic qualifying training camp (pelatnas)," said Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo.

The amount of funds is intended to prepare for the qualifying training for 51 paralympic athletes, 30 coaches, 10 managers, and 18 support staff.

"This is proof of our commitment to improve national sports achievements. With this collaboration, we hope to open up opportunities for athletes to qualify for the 2024 Paris Paralympics," said the Menpora.

To date, Indonesia has passed 12 paralympic athletes to Paris. The details of the athletes who escaped were four people from archery sports, two athletics, one person cycling, shooting two people, and swimming three people.
