This Is A List Of Manchester United Players Absent From Derby Against Manchester City

JAKARTA - Manchester United is not the only club to suffer from injury this season. As Manchester United's manager, Erik ten Hag, acknowledged, when he reflected on the calendar that continues to develop throughout the world of football: "Beban on the players is too big."

However, only one Premier League club - Newcastle United - lost more players in injury than the Red Devils did not fit this. Ahead of Manchester's derby on Sunday, United had suffered a total of 28 separate injuries.

Here are the players who didn't recover on time for a scary trip to the Manchester City Etihad Stadium.

Goalkeeper & Bek

The defender's injury has been United's main focus this season. Perhaps not surprising, the always-changing backline ahead of Andre Onana rarely protects their goalkeepers - only three Premier League clubs have conceded more shots than United this season.

Ten Hag will not have a complete four-back for City's fight on Sunday, March 3. Luke Shaw and Leandro Martinez have struggled through fitness issues throughout the season. While injuries did not allow Martinez to return, Shaw was immediately returned to the bench after rushing to recover from muscle problems and may not appear again this season.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka's appearance into the main squad has been repeatedly postponed by various clashes and problems he experienced during the training session. Harry Maguire scored United's equalizer goal against Fulham last weekend but had to miss a narrow FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, February 28 due to an unnamed injury. The high centre-back will miss Etihad. He joined the player who missed the long-termaturedaturation of Mariju Malacia in the crowded treatment room.

Midfielder

Mason Mount's debut season at United was unlucky after only two seasons. The former Chelsea midfielder is still struggling to get back in shape after a month's absence and was injured again in November.

Ten Hag is very vague about Mount's injury but insists that the 60 million-pound player's arrival "is a very good player for MU". There is little chance for the 25-year-old to justify the manager's trust.

Despite leaving the club in January, emergency left-back Sergio Reguilon has played more for United this season than Mount, who will not add to his little number of appearances at the Etihad.

Striker

The days when United had four elite center-forwards to be relied on have passed. Where neither Anthony Martial nor Rasmus Hojlund should be sidelined on the sidelines, which leaves United without a single senior striker available for the derby later.

Ten Hag has seen this issue arise after the club failed to add players during the January transfer window, warning that he may have to be "slightly creative".

Young striker Omari Forson was given his full senior debut against Fulham last weekend but that poor and nervous performance only lasted 52 minutes. Antony who Ten Hag has trusted a lot despite failing to score or providing assists in this Premier League season - returns to the squad against Forest and will probably maintain his starting position against City.

Martial may be out until the end of March after undergoing groin surgery but Hojlund is expected to return from a "small injury" in the next few weeks. But it's not fast enough to appear in the derby.
