JAKARTA - Borneo FC continues to strengthen their position at the top of the standings after defeating the host Persita Tangerang in the 2023/2024 Indonesian League 1 continuation.

The duel between the two teams took place in the 27th week at the Indomilk Arena Stadium, Tangerang, Banten, Saturday, March 2 evening. The hosts were forced to give up with a narrow score of 0-1.

The only goal that determines the visitors' victory was scored by Argentine player Felipe Cadenazzi, six minutes after both teams left the dressing room.

This result makes Borneo further strengthen their winning chances. The addition of three points makes them now total 63 points from 27 matches.

The number of points makes it increasingly difficult for them to catch up with the rest of the season. Their closest competitors in second place in Persib Bandung are currently only collecting 45 points, aka 18 points difference.

Meanwhile, the defeat against Borneo made Persita unable to get out of the relegation zone. They are now remaining in 16th position with a collection of 28 points, two points adrift of Arema in the safe zone.
