JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, said that the presence of the PBSI Ad Hoc Team had a positive effect on athletes in preparing to welcome the 2024 Paris Olympics.

PBSI prepared athletes for the 2024 Paris Olympics by forming an Ad Hoc Team in early January 2024. The team has mentors containing Indonesian badminton legends.

Dito said that the Indonesian badminton parent was actually late in forming the team. However, the positive impact was really felt by the athletes.

"It must be admitted that the pokja (work group/PBSI Ad Hoc Team) is a little late (formed). However, yesterday I saw that preparation and monitoring were very comprehensive. Now in terms of sports science it is monitored," said Dito.

The badminton legends who took to the field as mentors included Taufik Hidayat, Susy Susanti, Candra Wijaya, Greysia Polii, Tontowi Ahmad, and Liliyana Natsir.

Dito said that when he visited the PBSI Cipayung national training camp (Pelatnas) some time ago, athletes projected for the 2024 Paris Olympics said they were happy with the Ad Hoc Team.

"So, I believe psychologically the athletes have received better mental support," he said.

"We are also speeding up preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympics and we look forward to the results. Hopefully, the support from the PBSI Pokja (Ad Hoc Team), as well as the Ministry of Youth and Sports can achieve the desired hope," he said.

Badminton is Indonesia's leading sport to win a gold medal at the Olympics. This sport previously consistently won gold in the world's most popular multi-events.
