Apri/Fadia Don't Need To Be Superior At The 2024 Paris Olympics

Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti are trying to maintain the qualification ranking for the 2024 Paris Olympics (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The women's doubles pair, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, have no ambition to get superior status at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The ninth ranked pair in the world are currently still in a safe position to appear at the 2024 Paris Olympics. They also chose to focus on guarding their place.

"There is no desire to pursue superior status. I have spoken to Fadia, we just beat him. There is no need to think about superior, points, and others because there is experience from us," said Apri.

Apriyani/Fadia previously had experience not being superior, but finally reaching the final round. It happened at the 2023 World Championships.

At that time, the pair who won the 2021 SEA Games gold medal only got the status of 11th seed. However, they were able to get past the obstacles until they stepped on the final and then become runners-up.

"The 2023 World Championship is a lesson for us. From beginning to end it was very difficult. So, we don't need to think about (the superior status). Fadia reminded me," said Apri.

Apriyani is a gold medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in women's doubles. She achieved this achievement when she paired up with Greysia Polii, who is currently hanging up her racket.

Currently Apriyani/Fadia are part of a group on a European tour. There they will appear at the French Open 2024 which will take place on March 5-10, 2024 before going to All England 2024.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The announcement of the passing badminton athletes will be made on April 30, 2024.
