JAKARTA Women's speed number rock climbing athlete, Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, is optimistic about getting a gold medal at the Rock Climbing World Cup or IFSC World Cup.

There are two IFSC World Cup tournaments in the near future that are ready to be held. The first is IFSC World Cup series Wujiang, China, on April 12, 2024, and the second is IFSC World Cup series Salt Lake, United States, on May 3, 2024.

"Certainly, every competition always has to have its own motivation to target a gold medal," said Desak Made after undergoing training in Bekasi.

Desak Made is one of six Indonesian athletes who have received tickets for the 2024 Paris Olympics. He got a ticket there after winning a gold medal at the IFSC Climate World Championship 2023 which took place in Bern in August 2023.

Desak said that currently he still has a shortage of leg agility. This is being fixed by the coaching team to face future events.

"The lack is in the lack of leg agility which is less aggressive. That is a note for me to be able to train concentration and be more agile in practicing," he said.

In rock climbing, apart from Desak Made, tickets for the 2024 Paris Olympics have also been obtained by Rahmad Adi Mulyono. Rahmad was awarded the 2024 Paris Olympics after ensuring the title in the 2023 Asian Qualifier IFSC final in November 2023.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Indonesia targets to bring home more than two gold medals. If this is achieved, it will be history for Indonesia throughout the history of participation.
