Mbappe Has Informed PSG President About Certainty To Go At The End Of The Season

JAKARTA - Kylian Mbappe has finally decided to leave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the end of this season. This means that there will be no more discussion on contract extensions from Les Parisiens.

He has directly informed PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi regarding his decision.

The 25-year-old will leave on a free agent basis or free given his contract at the Parc des Princes expires in June 2024.

Marca has confirmed the report and said the drama tug-of-war with PSG has been completed.

Mbappe reportedly kept his promise to PSG last summer when he activated the clause to rule out an automatic extension of one year through 2025.

Marca's information was based on Mbappe's letter to PSG regarding this matter leaked to the press. The letter also contains details of the Mbappe exit agreement that have been completed.

However, Les Parisiens and Mbappe have agreed not to make any statements to the public and will not communicate their decisions until the end of this season.

The agreement was made in order to maintain good relations between the two.

Marca's report was later strengthened by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in his tweet on the X (Twitter) account.

"Kylian Mbappe has now notified PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi that he will leave the club as agent-free."

"The terms of departure have not been fully agreed upon, but he will leave Paris in the summer. Kylian has not fulfilled his commitment to the club," wrote Romano.

Romano's terms could be a matter of compensation to PSG if Mbappe leaves the Parc des Princes.

In addition, the attacker is also not entitled to the remaining bonus loyalty which is reportedly worth US$ 140 million or around Rp. 2.1 trillion.
