Yakob Sayuri Asks For Supporter Support When The Indonesian National Team Vs Vietnam In The 2023 Asian Cup

Yakob Sayuri scored one assist in the inaugural match of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup against Iraq (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team met Vietnam in the second match of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, Friday, January 19, 2024.

The Garuda squad needs encouragement so that they can realize the three-point target. You see, the trend of meeting the Indonesian national team with Vietnam is fairly bad, never winning in the last six matches.

Not to mention that Vietnam has ambitions to get the perfect points for the hope of qualifying for the knockout phase, just like the Red and White Team.

Not surprisingly, the Indonesian national team winger, Yakob Sayuri, asked the supporters to fully support and pray for the team's journey against Vietnam, both watching live and through the screen.

"We are all determined to fight hard for Indonesia's victory against Vietnam. We admit that in our last match it was difficult for us to beat Vietnam, but that was last year."

"This is the new year, 2024, and let what is behind pass. Now, we are back trying and in the next match we can produce the best," said Yakob.

"We also ask for prayers and support to all Indonesian supporters and citizens, whether they watch directly at the stadium or through other means, so that we play well and of course achieve the best results," said Yakob again.

Ahead of facing Vietnam, Yakob emphasized that his condition and his team were very ready and in high motivation after failing to get points in the inaugural match of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup against Iraq.

"My condition and all the current players are good and in high enthusiasm and motivation to achieve the first victory in the 2023 Asian Cup," said Yakob.

The Indonesian and Vietnamese national teams both lost in the inaugural match of Group D. Indonesia lost 1-3 to Iraq, while Vietnam lost 2-4 to Japan.

Therefore, victory is a fixed price for the Indonesian national team if they want to open up opportunities to qualify for the knockout round.
