India Open 2024: Rehan/Lisa Contribute In The Last 16

JAKARTA - Mixed doubles pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati lost in the second round of the 2024 India Open.

Their move stopped after being forced to give up rubber games 21-10, 10-21, and 16-21 by the Chinese Taipei pair, Ye Hong Wei/Lee Chia Hsin, on Thursday, January 18, 2024, afternoon WIB.

This is Rehan/Lisa's second defeat against the Ye/Lee pair. The only previous meeting took place at the Asian Games last year, Rehan/Lisa lost more than two straight games.

"Today's obstacles continue to be depressed, especially in the second and third games. Then, we were fixated on that game pattern, it was very difficult to change. We had to play smarter," said Lisa after the match.

Rehan/Lisa previously went through the first half without playing. This happened because their potential opponent, Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet, was injured.

Lisa said that knowing the field cannot be used as an excuse behind this defeat. He emphasized that this defeat was purely the result of their unpreparedness.

"There's no reason because this is the first time we've played, we should have been ready for any conditions," said Lisa.

Rehan/Lisa are the second representatives of Indonesia who were eliminated in the second round of the BWF Super 750 event. Previously, the women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung had already fallen.
