Men's Doubles Given Strong Warning Ahead Of India Open 2024

Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto were warned by the coach to maintain focus and consistency at the 2024 India Open later (doc. PSBI).

JAKARTA The men's doubles sector received a stern warning from coach Aryono Miranat ahead of appearing at the India Open 2024 which took place this week.

This Super 750 BWF level tournament starts from 16-21 January 2024. Indonesian men's doubles have three representatives who will take action at K. D. Jadhav Indoor Hall.

The three men's doubles that will appear are Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, and Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.

Aryono gave four important notes to Fajar/Rian and his friends ahead of the event. This is the result of an evaluation from the Malaysia Open 2024 last week.

"Consistency and focus are the things that I emphasize the most to them. The mind must also be strong and calm because seeing yesterday at the Malaysia Open 2024 on average when they were ahead and then followed by the opponent. This is what should not happen," he said.

At the time at the 2024 Malaysia Open last week, the best trip was made by Fajar/Rian from four pairs who had dropped. This pair successfully reached the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, two other representatives stopped in the first half and one pair ran aground in the second half. Leo/Daniel and Bagas/Fikri died in the first half, while Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan stopped in the second half.

Aryono said his team is in good shape and is currently ready for combat. They have undergone training and adapted to the field after arriving in India from Kuala Lumpur.

"In terms of mentality, I believe they can come back again because every game starts from scratch, zero again. Yesterday's results were forgotten and in this new match we have to be optimistic again," he said.

Indonesia has deployed a total of nine representatives at the India Open 2024. The other six representatives are three mixed doubles, two men's singles, and one women's singles.
