AFC Wants The 2023 Asian Cup To Be The Next Fasting Standard

JAKARTA - The 2023 Asian Cup officially opened on January 12, 2023 at the Lusail Stadium. The magnificent ceremony and various other operational preparations carried out by the Qatar Local Organizing Committee (LOC) received appreciation from the AFC Asian Cup Organizing Committee (OCAC).

OCAC representing the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) agrees with the 2023 Asian Cup as the best event in the history of the tournament.

No wonder, the AFC wants the 2023 Asian Cup to be used as a standard for events in the next editions.

"We have confidence that we will build a proud legacy from the previous edition. What is equally important is to strengthen the foundation for future hosts to establish an example standard set by the Qatar Football Association, LOC, and Qatar authorities," said Mariano V. Araneta Jr., Chairman of OCAC.

"From an operational point of view, it is clear that Asia is ready to celebrate the grandest Asian Cup edition in history."

"The AFC president has declared the Qatar 2023 Asian Cup the 'first' tournament. This result is an award for the high coordination and integration between the AFC and the Qatar 2023 Asian Cup LOC," he said again.

The 2023 Asian Cup LOC with the Qatar Football Federation (QFA) did make a number of breakthroughs, especially regarding tournament operations.

It aims to improve the quality of organizing, coordinating, and delivering 51 matches.

The reason is, the use of digital technology offered in the 2023 Asian Cup increases overall operational efficiency.

In addition, from the audience side, they have been pampered with ease of transportation and access. The 2023 Asian Cup LOC frees transportation costs that have been integrated directly with match venues.

Shifting to the participating teams, the 2023 Asian Cup LOC took a new approach by combining team hotels and training ground to reduce travel distance.
