Amartha Hangtuah Introduces A Team To Cover IBL 2024

Amartha Hangtuah has a semifinal target for IBL 2024 (doc Amartha Hangtuah).

JAKARTA - Amartha Hangtuah is one of the contestants for the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) for the 2024 season. They launched a team and the newest jersey in Kopikalyan, Jakarta, on Thursday, January 10, 2024.

Facing IBL 2024, Amartha Hangtuah carried out a number of reshuffles, one of which was in the coaching sector. They sent home coach Andika Saputra or familiarly called Bedu.

Bedu is a coach who once brought the team from Jakarta to the top four IBL 2017-2018.

Andika Saputra's presence is certainly expected to bring the team back to penetrate at least the semifinals or even more.

"We responded positively to new regulations from IBL. We have made preparations since failing to penetrate the 2023 IBL playoffs."

"We are bringing back coach Bedu who already understands the team's character and is expected to make us return to the top and step into the playoffs in the 2024 season," said Musab Mochammad, Managing Director Amartha Hangtuah.

Shifting to the player sector, Amartha Hangtuah also made changes. Several new players were brought in to increase the strength of the team.

Dandung O'Neal Pamungkas, Rizky Agung Pranata, Tri Hartanto, and Govinda Julian Saputra became four new local team players.

New regulations regarding the addition of foreign quota to three in the 2024 IBL were also used by the Blue-Ungu Team. They officially recruited Nick Faust, Zoran Talley Jr., and Ronald Delph, all from the United States.

Zoran Talley is the only foreign player to ever tasted Indonesia's highest level basketball competition. In 2022, he once defended Dewa United.

In addition, Talley's portfolio is fairly slick. He is a 2019 NBA Draft dropout although he was ultimately not elected by 30 NBA clubs.

A slick performance in NCAA brought Talley into the 2019 NBA Draft. While defending the Dominion Monarchs and Iowa State Cyclones in 2015-2019, he recorded 789 points, 358 rebounds, and 150 assists.

Prior to joining Amartha Hangtuah, Talley played at OKK Sloboda Tuzla, Bosnia-Division I basketball team. He scored an average of 14.7 points per game, 6.3 rebounds per game, and 1.7 assists per game in 19 matches.

Talley's arrival is certainly familiar to coach Andika Saputra. The two of them worked together while they were at Dewa United.

"We need Zoran Talley's experience to strengthen the team. His work ethic and ability will be a weapon for Amartah Hangtuah," said Andika Saputra or Bedu.

Then, two other foreign players, Nick Faust and Ronald Delph, have not tasted IBL at all.

Nick Faust last went off in a number of competitions, such as in Taiwan, Venezuela, and Mexico. Meanwhile, Ronald Delph last defended Al Sadd before leaving for Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Amartha Hangtuah is ready to welcome the new IBL 2024 regulations in home and away format. They will play home matches at the Jakarta State University GOR.

Amartha Hangtuah has ambitions to penetrate the semifinals to improve records last season. In IBL 2023, they only ended the regular round in 11th place and did not pass the playoffs.
