JAKARTA Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has a desire to fight back against WBC heavyweight belt holder Tyson Fury.
The two fighters previously met on October 28, 2023. Fury won through a controversial separate decision in the duel after he was knocked down by his opponent.
Ngannou said this rematch might not materialize in the near future. The reason is, Fury is in the ring plan on February 17, 2024 against Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed world champion race.
"It (re-fight against Tyson Fury) will happen," the Cameroon-France fighter was quoted as saying by Boxing Scene.
The rematch between Ngannou vs Fury is likely to only occur after Fury's rematch with Usyk. The rematch of the two heavyweights is likely to only occur at the end of this year.
"(The rematch) never happened immediately. I think there is little possibility that the'soon' in question is Usyk's rematch," Ngannou said.
