JAKARTA - Inter midfielder Davide Frattesi scored a winning goal in the third minute of additional time before Verona had to play with 10 players after Darko Lazovic was sent off and Thomas Henry missed the penalty at the end of the game.

Verona, led by Thomas Henry, missed a last-minute penalty in a dramatic match at the San Siro, where Inter managed to keep a 2-1 win, Saturday 6 Januri.

Previously, Henry managed to equalize after Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring in the 13th minute, but Frattesi's goal in injury time seemed to be the winner for the hosts.

Inter have never lost at home to Verona, but it was the visitors who created the first real chances, with Cyril Ngonge providing a pass from the right for Tomas Suslov, who were still at a difficult angle when he fired a shot blocked by goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

Inter, who wanted to return to winning ways after drawing with Genoa, opened the scoring from their first chance, where Marcus Thuram provided a measured pass to Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Mkhitaryan then headed towards the edge of the penalty box before giving Martinez a pass, who easily scored into the bottom corner of the net.

Inter continued to dominate possession throughout the first half, but their last pass was unsatisfactory and the best chance fell to Milan Djuric from Verona, whose header went straight at Sommer.

Martinez seemed to have scored a second goal for Inter three minutes after the second half started, but the flag referee declared offside after Francesco Acerbi headed Mkhitaryan's free pass.

A significant threat from Verona was not seen until Henry scored the equalizer with his first touch after coming on as a substitute. Arnautovic asked for a free kick after being hit by Giangiacomo Magnani, but the referee decided to continue the game. Ondrej Duda's cross from the right ends behind Sommer after hitting Henry's knee.

Inter immediately tried to restore their lead and almost made it in the 79th minute. The free pass hit Juan David Cabal's shoulder, forcing Montipo to make a good save, but the ball passed Arnautovic at the back post.

Martinez then sent a header right at the goalkeeper, while Arnautovic was unable to point his head at Acerbi's high pass with the goal open.

However, three minutes in extra time, Inter found the goal they wanted. Alessandro Bastoni's powerful volley hit the crossbar, Nicolo Barella followed with a powerful shot Montipo couldn't hold, and Frattesi, who was a substitute for tapping the ball into to trigger a scene of joy.

Lazovic got a second yellow card in the incident, but there was still time for another major event when a VAR review saw Matteo Darmian convicted of kicking Magnani in the leg, just to see Henry miss the opportunity.
