Marco Silva Satisfied Fulham Escaped The Championship Team

JAKARTA - Fulham had difficulty overcoming the resistance of the Championship Division team Rotherham United before winning 1-0 in the fourth round of the FA Cup at Craven Cottage Stadium, Saturday, January 6 in the morning WIB. Manager Marco Silva was satisfied that Fulham could meet the target.

Silva hopes to get past the early stages of the FA Cup. He also estimates that Fulham, who is the Premier League team, will still have an opponent who cannot be underestimated even though Rotherdam is from the bottom division.

This is what made him focus on the first match. Silva estimates almost didn't miss.

Fulham, who played at home, was frustrated because he was unable to penetrate the visitors' defense, which was more focused on the back sector.

The difficulties faced by The Cottagers are indeed surprising. The reason is that Rotherham is a bottom team from the Championship. They are even threatened with lowering caste to League One.

In that match, Fulham finally broke the deadlock after Bobby De Cordova-Reid scored in the 24th minute. De Cordova-Reid's goal was quite slick because he fired a shot from outside the penalty box and the ball slid into the corner over the goal.

Rotherman made another surprise when Jordan Hugill scored an equalizer. But his goal was disallowed because he was in an offside position.

After winning, Fulham continued to put pressure on the opponent's defense. In the 42nd minute, Fulham almost increased the advantage if Andreas Pereira's shot did not hit the post.

In the second half, the host's game did not change. However, Fulham still struggled to score even though he dominated the game. A good chance was obtained by centre-back Issa Diop in the 76th minute. But he still failed to score.

The 1-0 score for Fulham lasted until the end of the match. Silva also showed his satisfaction because Fulham was able to get past Rotherham's obstacles.

"Successing to qualify from this round is indeed our target. Obviously, we deserved to win it," Silva said.

Fulham, who is currently ranked 14th in the Premier League standings, has shown a positive trend in the two tournaments.

They still survive until the Carabao Cup semifinals. Only the club headquartered in the capital, London, must meet Liverpool's seed.
