RB Leipzig Failed To Continue The Winning Trend

RB Leipzig drew 1-1 against Werder Bremen (Instagram/@rbleipzig).

RB Leipzig visited the headquarters of Werder Bremen, Wesers Stadium, in the 16th week of the 2023/2024 Bundesliga, Wednesday, December 20, 2023, early morning WIB.

The Bulls, nicknamed Leipzig, failed to stick to Bayern Munich after picking up a point.

Leipzig did excel in possession and creating chances. They packed 56 percent possession and fired 17 shots, eight of which were on target.

This figure is quite unequal with the hosts' gains which only shot 11 times and only two of them headed for the goal.

This means that Leipzig's final finish is a problem because they only managed to score one goal, the same as Bremen.

Leipzig even came close to opening up the lead when the game had only been rolling for one minute. Castello Lukeba shot from inside the penalty box after securing the opponent's defender's sweeping ball. Unfortunately, his shot still hit the post.

After that, there was no chance that Marco Rose's team would be dangerous.

Meanwhile, the host Bremen is not without a chance. They almost took the lead in the 32nd minute if Rafael Santos Borre Maury's header was not thwarted by Jonathan Blaswich.

An additional one point made RB Leipzig fail to stick Bayern Munich in second place. The Bulls are now perched on the third ladder with 33 points, on a two-point basis from Munich.

At the same time, the results of this series stopped the previous series of perfect points. RB Leipzig packed four consecutive wins in all competitions, three of which were in the Bundesliga 2023/2024.
