YOGYAKARTA - PEAK Sport Region Indonesia plans to hold a Student Basketball League in Yogyakarta. The league will be followed by elementary, junior high, and university which will be held in 2024.

Student competitions ranging from elementary to tertiary levels are expected to develop basketball for young children to young people in DI Yogyakarta.

Rachmad Kasim Martadji, initiator of the Student Basketball League, said that the competition will be rolled out for a long period of time. The reason is, the competition is held every Saturday and Sunday.

Kasim, who is a former national referee and match supervisor (FIBA Commissioner) and often serves in the Indonesian professional league and at various national level competitions, positively welcomes the support from PEAK.

KPH Purbodiningrat in his speech said the DIY Perbasi Pengprov would fully support regulations and recommendations and human resources (HR) in creating a better basketball ecosystem.

"With this activity as an effort to develop a basketball ecosystem in the Special Region of Yogyakarta," said KPH Purbodiningrat.

Kanjeng Purbo explained that the basketball ecosystem in DIY has so far been quite promising, but it still needs guidance so that it continues to bring many achievements.
