Osimhen And Kvaratskhelia Win Napoli Over Cagliari

JAKARTA - Napoli won an important 2-1 victory over Cagliari in the Italian Serie A match at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Sunday, December 17 in the morning WIB. Strikers Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also brought Napoli into the top five.

Napoli returned to winning ways after reaping bad results in the previous two matches. Meeting the two main rivals, Inter Milan and Juventus, they lost.

Napoli were forced to give up 3-0 at home to Inter. Furthermore, Walter Mazzarri's team had to admit Juve's superiority with a narrow score of 1-0.

After the two defeats, Napoli managed to rise when they hosted Cagliari. They won an important victory that brought Napoli into the top five.

Now, Napoli are in fifth place with 27. It's just that the defending champions of the Italian League are already 11 points behind Inter who are at the top of the standings.

Meanwhile, Cagliari is stuck in 16th place. They have 13 points and only won three times. Cagliari must be vigilant because it is only one point ahead with the team in the relegation zone.

After everything was safe, the game started. Napoli showed dominance in the game. Unfortunately some of the opportunities Napoli players got failed to convert into goals.

The best chance was obtained by defender Amir Rrahmani who almost broke into Cagliari's goal. But his header still hit the post. The goalless score closed the first half.

In the second half, Napoli increased the intensity of attack. Napoli's players' patience finally paid off after Osimnhen broke into Cagliari's goal in the 69th minute.

Goalkeeper Cagliari Simone Scuffet was actually able to throw Osimhen's header away. It's just that the ball hit the post and got back into the net.

But Napoli's advantage did not last long. Just three minutes later, Cagliari managed to equalize the score to 1-1 with a close-range shot by forward Leonardo Pavoletti.

A quick goal came again when Napoli turned things around. Kvaratskhelia, who met Osimhen's pass, put Napoli ahead in the 75th minute.

Napoli actually added a goal when Matteo Politano found Cagliari's goal. However, his goal was disallowed so that the score did not change 2-1 until the end of the match.
