Richard Erlangga Becomes Acting President Of Madura United To Replace Achsanul Qosasi

Madura United introduced Richard Erlangga as Acting President of the Club (doc. Madura United).

JAKARTA - Madura United officially introduced the Acting President of the club which is now being held by Richard Erlangga. His presence at the club to replace Achsanul Qosasi's position which stumbled on a corruption case.

The news of Richard's tenure as Acting President of Madura United was announced on the club's official website on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.

"Mbak Annisa Zhafarina Qosasi as CEO of Madura United officially introduces Mr. Richard Erlangga as the Executive of the Club President (Acting Club President) at Madura United FC," said Ferdiansyah Alifurrahman, Madura United's media officer quoted from the club's official website.

Previously, it was known that Achsanul Qosasi had been named a suspect in the BTS Kominfo tower corruption case by the Attorney General's Office, on November 3, 2023.

Atas status tersebut, Madura United jelas membutuhkan sosok pengganti sementara untuk berperan sebagai pelaksanaan tugas presiden klub.

Richard himself was appointed not without reason. His figure, who is familiar and had positions in the ranks of the Sapeh Kelap Laskar team, is an important consideration.

"Bang Richard, as he is familiarly called, is not a foreign figure at this club. Previously he served as President Commissioner at the Madura United FC management company for the past year," said Ferdiansyah.

"Bang Richard's appointment was carried out after intense discussions with the entire club's management. This appointment is not one-sided."

"It turns out, Bang Richard accepts the mandate as a leader at this club as well as part of a sustainable effort to advance the club."

After officially taking on the new position, Richard also immediately introduced two new Brazilian foreign players, namely Lucas Frigeri who is the goalkeeper and Dalberto who plays in the striker position.

With the arrival of the two new players, Madura United FC is optimistic that they can bounce back to the track desired by all loyal fans for the remainder of the 2023/2024 Liga 1 season.
