Gordon's Single Goal Wins Newcastle United Over Manchester United

JAKARTA - Newcastle United had to work hard before beating Manchester United 1-0 in the Premier League England match at St James' Park Stadium, Sunday, December 3 in the morning WIB. Anthony Gordon's only goal led Newcastle to fifth place in the standings.

Newcastle seems to have become a scourge for MU. This is the second time Newcastle has beaten the Red Devils.

In the first meeting of the season, it took place at the Carabao Cup when Newcastle beat MU 3-0. Interestingly, Eddie Howe's team's victory was won at home to opponents, at Old Trafford.

And, for the second time, it happened in domestic competitions. This time The Magpies played at home while beating MU.

Last season at Newcastle and in the Premier League, they beat their rivals with a convincing score of 2-0. This shows that Newcastle is increasingly beating MU regularly.

The competition between them was tight. Moreover, both Newcastle and MU are on the central board. Newcastle's victory brought them up to fifth place as well as past MU's position.

Now, Newcastle gets 28 points. Two points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur which slipped to sixth. Meanwhile, MU itself also dropped to seventh with 24 points.

Newcastle's own match against MU is a draw. However, Newcastle is slightly superior in possession of the ball. Only, Newcastle does have to work hard to face its rivals.

The hosts could only score in the second half. Gordon's The Toon Army goal in the 55th minute.

He welcomed a cross from England defender Kieran Trippier to beat goalkeeper Andre Onana.

After the goal, Newcastle continued to show dominance over their opponents. However, they couldn't add goals.

Including MU who relied on striker Anthony Martial had difficulty breaking through the host's defense.
