JAKARTA – Joan Mir is really happy with some of the evolutions made by Honda after he tried out the 2024 RCV at the 2023 Valencia MotoGP test.

Mir and his teammate Luca Marini, who recently moved from the Mooney VR46 Racing Team, received less disappointing results in the test results.

Marini managed to finish in the top 10 on his debut aboard the RC213V. Meanwhile, Mir is three places behind the Italian racer.

Even though he got results outside the top 10, Mir admitted that he was very satisfied with the performance of the motorbike he was riding.

"This is something that makes me very happy. This is the first time I started to see some evolution on the motorbike, the package. We tried a lot of things," said Mir, quoted by Crash.

Even though he is quite satisfied with the motorbike's performance, Mir admits that there is still some homework that the team must do before the pre-season test at Sepang in February 2024.

"We didn't have much time to do time attacks. Even though we were like that, we weren't bad. In terms of speed, I could be stronger and gain feeling and confidence with that (bike)," said Mir.

The test in Valencia marked the first time Mir had ridden the new 2024 RC213V machine. Apart from that, this test was also the team's first opportunity to work with the new crew chief, Santi Hernandez.
