JAKARTA - Mixed martial arts or known as mixed martial arts (MMA) is becoming an increasingly popular sport. From this background, the Indonesia Mixed Martial Arts Federation (INAMMAF) was officially formed on Saturday, November 25 2023.

Taking place at Balai Sarbini, Jakarta, the inauguration of INAMMAF was also attended by Mohammed Shahid from the World Martial Arts Federation or IMMAF (International Mixed Martial Arts Federation) as well as the Chairman of INAMMAF, Dimaz Raditya Nazar Soesatyo.

On this occasion, Dimaz Raditya said that the aim of INAMMAF was to act as a bridge for Indonesian athletes to be able to compete internationally as well as to improve their martial arts skills at the amateur level.

"INAMMAF has a high career path because it is affiliated with IMMAF, so since yesterday we have been sending MMA athletes, especially amateurs, to the international arena," said Dimaz Raditya in a written statement on Monday, November 27 2023.

The formation of INAMMAF also aims to hold various MMA matches in several cities in Indonesia.

In the future, this agenda will become a powerful forum for athletes so that their skills can be seen and help them compete at world class level.

"The target is to hold as many events as possible to find out the potential of athletes before sending them internationally," said Dimaz.

Dimaz also hopes that INAMMAF will become one of the sports bodies that holds MMA matches so that there will be many choices of matches.

So far there have been a number of athletes aged 19 years and over who have joined INAMMAF. The INAMMAF program also focuses not only on athletes, but also on improving referees, judges and sports.

On 22-23 November 2023, INAMMAF has even held the first batch of referee upgrading or training.

The agenda was attended by 18 referees from various federations, such as Iran, Malaysia and Cyprus with international standards from IMMAF.

Apart from that, the Secretary General (Sekjen) of INAMMAF, William Ernest Silanoe, also said that INAMMAF is directly affiliated with the BRAVE Combat Federation for careers at the professional level.

"INAMMAF is also directly affiliated with the BRAVE Combat Federation for its professional career," said William.

As the first step in establishing INAMMAF, six MMA matches from various classes were successfully held at Balai Sarbini, Jakarta, Saturday, November 25 2023, and were attended by 12 athletes.
