JAKARTA Persebaya Surabaya was beaten by four goals without reply against Persik Kediri in the 17th week of Liga 1 for the 2023/2024 competition season.

Portuguese player Flavio Silva scored two goals to help his team secure the landslide victory at Brawijaya Stadium, Friday, October 27, 2023 evening WIB.

Persik was only able to take the lead after the two teams returned from the dressing room. Two minutes into the second half, Adi Eko Jayanto took his team ahead of guests.

In a disadvantaged position, bad luck hit Bajul Ijo in the 54th minute because their player Reva Adi Utama got a red card from the field fairer. A minute later Song Ui Young scored an own goal. This South Korean player broke into the net with a header while trying to block Yusuf Meilana's pass.

The shortage of players made it difficult for Persebaya. Flavio Silva used this situation to buy two goals each in the 61st and 65th minutes.

This is Persebaya's seventh defeat of the season from 17 matches. Meanwhile, for Persik this is their sixth win.

Persik is currently filling the ninth position in the standings with 23 points. They are one point ahead of Bajul Ijo who occupies the tenth position.

In the following week, Persebaya will play away to host Persis Solo, while Persik Kediri will travel to Borneo FC headquarters.
