Alex Rins Threatened To Be Absent At MotoGP Thailand 2023, LCR Difficulty Finding A Replacement

JAKARTA - LCR Honda racer Alex Rins is in danger of being absent from the 2023 Thailand MotoGP which will take place at the Buriram Circuit, 27-29 October. This could be a disaster for LCRs who have difficulty finding replacement riders.

Alex Rins has yet to be confirmed to appear in the 2023 Thailand MotoGP because he is still injured. Rins was even absent from the main race in MotoGP Australia due to an injury to his broken leg recurring again.

For that reason, Rins cannot be sure to appear at the Buriram Circuit. Quoted from GPOne, Wednesday, October 25, this situation then forced LCR to rack their brains, because they would find it difficult to find a racer who could replace Rins.

In fact, Iker Lecuona, who is a Honda racer, could be an option to replace Rins. However, Thailand's MotoGP schedule, which coincides with the World Superbike (WSBK) in Jerez, made Iker Lecuona not have an empty schedule when LCR did not have a substitute rider.

Meanwhile, Stefan Bradl, who is a Honda tester, was also unable to attend Thailand because he was busy in the Honda RC213-V 2024 prototype test at Jerez.

This season Stefan Bradl plays the Honda reserve rider and has been Alex Rins' coating several times. Even during the Dutch MotoGP, Bradl was able to finish 13th, then finished 15th in MotoGP India, and finished 14th in MotoGP Japan.
