Officially Upgrading To Moto2, Mario Aji: I Know This Step Will Be Tougher

JAKARTA - Indonesian racer, Mario Suryo Aji, officially moved up to the Moto2 event in the 2024 season. He will partner with Somkiat Chantra on Honda Team Asia.

Mario Aji is happy to finally officially announce the promotion to Moto2. He admitted that he was never this enthusiastic.

The Astra Honda Racing Team racer admitted that his steps in the world championship would be tougher. For that, he will prepare harder to face this new challenge.

"I know this step will not be easy or more difficult than last year, but I accept this challenge," he said on the official Honda Team Asia website.

"I will maximize everything in winter. I have to learn quickly. That's the target, quickly learn and adapt quickly to Moto2," he continued.

Mario also said that he would certainly be more enthusiastic and more motivated to achieve his dream towards MotoGP.

"Competing in the Moto2 championship, there are no new challenges, it's getting tougher and hopefully it can progress more next season," he said.

Meanwhile, Honda Team Asia Manager, Hiroshi Aoyama said, Moto2 will be a new challenge for Mario Aji. He is also happy to be able to give this opportunity to the 19-year-old rider.

"He did a test on a Mot2 motorbike, and he showed a quick adaptation with this bike. I hope he will be competitive in this category," said Aoyama.
