The 2030 FIFA World Cup also marks 100 years of this prestigious football event taking place. To celebrate 100 years of the FIFA World Cup, FIFA will hold match ceremonies in three countries, namely Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.
"In addition, after taking into account the historical context of the first FIFA World Cup, the FIFA Council further agreed to hold a unique centenary celebration ceremony in the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo. As well as the first three matches of the World Cup to be held in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay," wrote FIFA.
The opening match of the three ceremonial matches taking place on the American continent will be held at the Centenario Stadium, Montevideo, Uruguay, where the first World Cup took place in 1930.
These six countries are certain to receive automatic qualifying tickets for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
