JAKARTA - Glasgow Celtic had to feel disappointment in the Champions League when Pedro scored in extra minutes to help Lazio win 2-1 at Parkhead. Though Kyogo Furuhashi had opened the Celtic lead 12 minutes after kick-off with his first goal in the tournament. But Lazio managed to equalize the score before the break in Thursday 5 October morning WIB.

Luis Palma's goal for Celtic in the final stages of the game seems to be the winner, but unfortunately, the goal was ruled out by VAR (Video Assistant Referee) technology for offside.

A 1-1 draw will result in a fair match based on the performance of both teams. However, in the last minute of the game, Pedro of Lazio appeared as a hero when he scored a winning goal that left Celtic suffering defeat.

This result makes Celtic at the bottom of Group E with two defeats to two matches. Even though Celtic looked charming, this defeat was the biggest failure in their last 11 matches in the Champions League group stage.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers expressed his disappointment with the outcome of this match and hoped his team could learn from this defeat. Celtic must quickly recover for their next match in their bid to win their first win in the Champions League group stage.

"I am very disappointed that I feel we deserve something from this match," Rogers said.

"We had a good start and scored a good goal, I was disappointed with our conceded goal because we could do better from the corner. But, I think when we got into the second half, except for one chance we had, we dominated the game and we got closer there," he said.

"It was as if it was only a matter of time before we could score, we got a goal, but unfortunately Daizen only touched it a little bit and made it offside," he added.

"It's very difficult for us, but there's a lesson here that we have to secure the ball in the game and if you won't win it at that stage when the ball goes forward then you certainly can't lose it," said Rodgers.

"It was a great lesson, but the players gave everything now, the squad of players we have, his mentality, everything, and just disappointing the players and supporters that we can't get results," he said.

With this result, Lazio won three valuable points, while Celtic will struggle for success in the next game of the competition.
