JAKARTA The U-17 Indonesian national team coach, Bima Sakti, has confirmed that he will prepare two empty slots for diaspora players to participate in the training camp (TC) in Germany.

TC in Germany is a preparation for the 2023 U-17 World Cup in Indonesia. The U-17 Indonesian national team will start training in Germany from September to October.

"We had the opportunity to leave the country. This is part of the final selection and we plan to bring 28 players. We will leave a second slot because we will give two diaspora players the opportunity," said Bima.

Diaspora players who are planned to be summoned during a training camp in Germany are from the Netherlands. Monitoring of diaspora players in the country will later be assisted by the consultant of the U-17 national team, Frank Right.

Frank himself has been with Garuda Muda since international trials in Bali, trials against Persis Solo in Solo, as well as selection during training camps in Jakarta so he knows the team's needs.

"If the criteria are not included, we will continue to change them because accommodation is easier. Information from coach Frank only two hours from the Netherlands to our training ground in Germany," said Bima.

Currently, the diaspora player who has the opportunity to defend the Indonesian U-17 national team at the 2023 U-17 World Cup will be Welber Jardim. The young Sao Paulo player before defending the Garuda Muda squad during the trial against Persis.

However, there is still the possibility that the U-17 Indonesian national team will be strengthened by more than one diaspora player during the World Cup later.

The 2023 U-17 World Cup will take place in Indonesia from 10 November to 2 December. A total of 24 countries will participate in this two-year event.

Indonesia was trusted to host the event after Peru was dropped by FIFA because it was not ready to hold this age group event.

Before leaving for Germany, Garuda Muda will first undergo a trial against Korea U-17 on Wednesday, August 30 tomorrow at Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, West Java.
