Badminton World Championship 2023: Rinov/Pitha Secure Second Round Tickets

JAKARTA Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari qualified for the second round of the 2023 Badminton World Championships after beating Hiroki Midorikawa/Natsu Saito. Rinov/Pitha passed the first round after a dramatic win of three games 23-21, 8-21, 21-11 over the Japanese pair at the Royal Arena, Copenhagen, Tuesday, August 22.

This victory made Rinov / Pitha further beautify their winning record with Hiroki / Natsu to 4-0.

This is Rinov/Pitha's third win over the pair this year. Meanwhile, another win came last year when they faced off in the quarter-finals of the Korea Open.

In the second round, Rinov/Pitha will again face another Japanese pair, namely the fifteenth seeded Kyohei Yamashita/Naru Shinoya, who got a shot in the first half.

Rinov/Pitha are one of four Indonesian representatives who fought today. The other three representatives are Dejan Ferdinandsyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, and Putri Kusuma Wardani.

These three representatives played the first round match on Monday. Therefore, today they took the arena to win tickets for the third round.
