League 1: Dewa United Tops The Standings, Arema FC Is Getting Worse

JAKARTA Arema FC is getting worse as a caretaker at the bottom of the 2023 Liga 1 standings, after failing to win again. Arema was crushed by Bali United 1-3 in the match at I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar on Friday night, July 21.

This is Arema's third defeat from four matches. Previously, the team nicknamed Singo Edan lost 0-1 to Dewa United, drew 3-3 against Persib Bandung, and lost 2-5 to Persik Kediri.

Dewa United scored a different result, which won the third victory from four matches. In Friday's match, Dewa United won three goals without reply against Persik Kediri at the Indomilk Arena Stadium, South Tangerang.

Based on these results, Dewa United is now leading the Liga 1 standings with a score of 10. Previously, Dewa United won 1-0 over Arema FC, 2-1 over PSM Makassar, and drew 2-2 against Persib Bandung.

Another result of Liga 1 which was held on Friday, PSS Sleman drew 2-2 against PSIS Semarang's guest in the match at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman. The match was marked by two red cards for Carlos Fortes (PSIS) and Wahyudi Hamisi (PSS), respectively. At the Segiri Stadium Samarinda, the host Borneo FC won 2-1 in the Kalimantan derby against Barito Putera Banjarmasin.

Today, the League 1 competition features three matches. The three matches are still in progress: Persita Tangerang vs Persija Jakarta at the Indomilk Arena Stadium, Bhayangkara FC vs Persikabo 1973 at Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium Bekasi, and PSM Makassar vs Persib Bandung at BJ Habibie Parepare Stadium.
