Apriyani Talks About Mindset Changes When Performance Graphics With Siti Fadia Decrease

JAKARTA - Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti's performance is in the spotlight. Both are considered to be declining after never experiencing the title again until mid-2023.

Apriyani is well aware of this. For that, he emphasized how important it is to improve.

He said it was important to change the way of thinking or "mindset" to be more positive and play with heart to get out of pressure while competing in important tournaments such as the Indonesia Open 2023.

"We really have to encourage us because on this Asian tour the results are not good," said Apriyani.

When asked whether it was due to pressure that emerged from the Race to Olympic' frills that accompanies several tournaments including the Sudirman Cup, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold winner admitted that there was a burden. In addition, it is his responsibility to win points and qualify for Paris next year to participate.

"What is my problem is to make it a big responsibility that is too excessive and unconsciously a burden for me," said Apriyani, as quoted by Antara.

"After in Singapore, I tried to let go of it all. I didn't talk to Fadia and the coach, because this is the 'Race to Olympic', we desperately want to win, we don't have to think about the points, and (pressure) what else."

"I let go of it all and tried to think if it was kept, it wasn't good for me, and my performance with Fadia was because he was my partner. This is an extraordinary experience for me because I just felt this," he added.

The former Greysia Polii co-star continued, now she is trying to find loopholes to improve her mentality steadily for future competitions.

"Try to find a gap in what to do and fix it like a'mindset', because from the pattern of play and physical there is no problem. 'Mindset', that's what I feel more. And thank God we played with our hearts and didn't think about anything (let go)," said Apriyani.

He added that the big responsibility he held as a senior Fadia was also a trigger for him instead of being a burden.

"Yes, maybe because it is more senior, I must be able to bring myself and Fadia too. The responsibility is getting bigger but it must be a positive thing," said Apriyani.
