Juan Sebastian Veron's Confidence Seeing The Future Of Indonesian Football

JAKARTA - Argentine football legend, Juan Sebastian Veron, has faith after seeing Indonesia's young talent. He believes Indonesian football has a bright future.

This belief was conveyed by the former Lazio and Manchester United players after participating in the Fourfeo Mini Tournament with three other world legends, Eric Abidal (France), Roberto Carlos (Brazil), and Karagounis Giorgos (Yunani) at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, Thursday, June 1.

"So Indonesia has a future (in football)," he said, as quoted by Antara.

The former footballer who started his career at the Argentine club Estudiantes saw that Indonesia had a good future in terms of football because of the many classy talents he met.

First, thank you to all Indonesian people, it feels fantastic here and a lot of great talent here. Talenta is indeed a lot around the world, but I see a lot here too, working hard. The coaches are also good," said Veron.

In the Fourfeo Mini Tournament event, Veron had the opportunity to directly train the seeds of young U-16 football, some of which were members of the blue team. There are four teams participating in the mini tournament, namely the blue team (Veron), the maroon red team (Roberto Carlos), the yellow team (Karagounnis), and the white team (Abidal).

After seeing the skills of Indonesian Under-16 players, the 48-year-old man said that young Indonesian talents still had a long time to develop.

"They are good, so they have a long time to develop. They can also play in the national team someday," said Veron.

Furthermore, Veron assessed that what young players need to develop well is competition. With competition, young Indonesian players can have the opportunity to play in European football competitions.

Young players need competition. Yes, you guys have to have a good competition, maybe one day they can also feel better competition in Europe," said Veron.

While training the blue team in a mini tournament at the Madya Stadium, Veron only managed to lead his team to finish third because they only won two draws, namely with a score of 0-0 against Roberto Carlos' red maroon and also with a score of 1-1 against Eric Abidal's white team.
