JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo welcomed Indonesia's cooperation with LaLiga for football affairs for underprivileged children.
This was revealed by Menpora Dito during a press conference with LaLiga representatives, namely Ivan Codina (Managing Director of LaLiga APac) at the Media Center of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Office in Jakarta, Thursday, May 4.
Dito said LaLiga would create an early childhood soccer competition in Indonesia for underprivileged children who have extraordinary talent potential.
"So LaLiga wants to make a league in Indonesia whose focus is on being grassroots for underprivileged children, but has extraordinary potential," Dito said as quoted by ANTARA.
This collaboration was welcomed by Dito because it was in accordance with the mission he carried as Menpora and also this was in line with President Jokowi's expectations.
"So this is one of the things we have echoed is the beginning of our inauguration as Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) that the President wants leagues and racing for young seeds," said Dito.
"I really appreciate that the LA Liga directly wants to contribute in Indonesia to focus on young people, especially in underprivileged children," he added.
In addition to holding early-age competitions for underprivileged children, Dito also said that later LaLiga would also provide special materials related to sports management at universities.
LaLiga will also provide training, mentoring, training in sports management in universities, said Dito.
