Max Verstappen Doesn't Like F1 Schedule To Be More Congested, Signs For Early Retirement?

JAKARTA - Red Bull Racing driver, Max Verstappen, once again hinted at the possibility of retiring with his latest comments.

The two-time world champion criticized the sprint race and the increasing number of races. He also felt that what was there today was very worthy to be lived.

"I've always said that even if there won't be a sprint race again, if we continue to expand the calendar and throughout the weekend, at one point you ask yourself: is it worth it?" said Verstappen before racing in Azerbaijan.

"I love racing. I love winning. I know, of course, there are payments and everything, and you have a good life. But is this really a good life?"

"I think sometimes you get to a point in your career where you might want to do other things."

Previously, Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali revealed the possibility of holding 30 races in one season. This is based on the growing interest of several countries that have not yet received a share as the host.

Verstappen has become an outspoken critic of the new format and ideas posed by the CEO. The Dutchman even firmly stated that he was not a fan of the idea of Domenicali.

"When we do all those kinds of things, the weekend becomes very intense and we've done a lot of racing," said Verstappen.

"We're heading into a season where we can have 24 or 25 races and if you then start adding more, it's not worth it to me. I won't enjoy it."
