JAKARTA - Unsatisfactory results were achieved by Indonesian racer Sean Gelael, with his team WRT 31 in the inaugural series of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Targeting the podium, Sean and his friends actually finished the last one in the LMP2 class.

In the 1000 Miles of Sebring race, USA, WRT 31 took eighth place. In position 7. However Sean Gelael, Ferdinand Habsburg, and Robin Frinjs did not appear too disappointed because they felt they had struggled optimally throughout the race which took place from Friday, March 17th, until Saturday, March 18, morning WIB.

Although unable to meet the target at Sebring, Sean remains optimistic about getting good results in the next series. The FIA WEC second series is 6 Hours of Portimao in Portimao, Portugal on April 16.

"It was a tough ride. We were in the front position but finally finished P7. We will soon rise," said Sean in an official written statement.

The race at Sebring actually went smoothly for WRT 31 at the beginning. In fact, Sean, who was the first racer, was able to maintain his podium position before being replaced by Ferdinand Habsburg.

WRT 31 also opened up opportunities to win LMP2 races, although not large. Unfortunately, some of the competition executions did not go as expected.

They were then thrown away from the championship competition, even for the podium fight. WRT 31 finally finished seventh, where the Hertz JOTA 48 team won.
