JAKARTA - Indonesian female tennis player, Aldila Sutjiadi, has just added to her long list of achievements. Appearing in the ATX Open women's doubles with Erin Routliffe, Aldila came out victorious.

The victory, which was won on Monday, March 6, became Aldila's second title on the WTA tour this year. Aldila/Routliffe fought for one hour and 28 minutes to win 6-4 3-6 10-8 over seeded Nichole Melichar-Martinez (USA)/Ellen Perez (Australia).

Aldila's first title in 2023 was achieved through a victory in the women's doubles at the WTA 250 tournament entitled ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand last January.

Aldila Sutjiadi was born in Jakarta on May 2 1995, her interest in tennis became contagious for the first time when she accompanied her two older siblings to practice. His career started in 2008 by participating in national level championships.

His ability was increasingly seen when he won the singles and doubles competitions at the 2010 International Indonesian Junior Championships. Two years later, he was able to speak on the international stage.

Appearing at the 2012 Australian Open Junior Championships, Aldila managed to penetrate the semifinals.

His career then continued to climb in 2018 when he appeared at the Asian Games. Together with Christopher Ruangkat, Aldila who represented Indonesia won the gold medal.

The success of Aldila and Ruangkat also continued at the 2019 and 2021 SEA Games by winning gold medals.

In 2022, Aldila won her first WTA title through the 2022 Copa Colsanitas with Australian tennis player, Astra Sharma.

The WTA title that Aldila won was the answer to the long wait for Indonesian tennis to renew its achievements. Because the last time the title was won was in 2003 through Angelique Widjaja.

From his series of achievements, the latest title at the ATX Open has made Aldila's ranking rise. Currently, the 27-year-old tennis player has risen three points to 32nd in the world doubles position with 2090 points.

After the Austin tournament, Aldila will still be traveling to the US. He will again partner with Miyu Kato to take part in the WTA 1000 Indian Wells event.
