JAKARTA - Tyson Fury defended the WBC heavyweight title after stopping England's compatriot Derek Chisora's resistance on Saturday (Sunday morning WIB) and is now looking at the next challenge to unite his title against Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury, who is unbeaten in his career as a professional boxer, has been in control since the opening bell.

And with Chisora's eyes starting to close, referee Victor Loughlin stopped the fight nine seconds before the 10th half ended at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, England.

The 34-year-old boxer has now recorded a record 33 wins from 34 fights with one draw.

Fury's latest win also paved the way for the title unification bout against Usyk, heavyweight champion IBF, WBA, and WBO.

Usyk was on the side of the ring watching Saturday night's fight when he returned to the arena where he removed all British boxer Anthony Joshua's titles in September 2021 before beating him again in Jeddah this July.

Fury, having thanked some 60,000 spectators and paid tribute to his losing opponent by leading the crowd at the "One Derek Chisora" shot, turned his attention to Usyk with Joe Joyce of the British heavyweight also coming into the ring.

"Usyk, you next, I've done it with a Ukrainian, (Wladimir) Klitschko, let's get started," Fury told BT Sport, as reported by Antara from AFP.

Usyk remained silent, Chisora added: "Thank you Tyson, I really appreciate that. We are friends."

"There will be a big fight to come, everyone wants to see a champion in the heavyweight division."

Fury, meanwhile, then turned his attention to Joyce.

"I told Joe Joyce, a brilliant fighter, he deserves a title race," Fury said. "If therabbit (Usyk) doesn't fight, we will fight at Wembley."

Joyce added: "I'll take both. As Fury said, if not Usyk then me."

Fury's only fight earlier this year was when he beat Dillian Whyte in the sixth round at Wembley in April.

After the fight against Whyte at that time, Fury announced his resignation but the persuasion of the boxing ring proved too strong.

The fight with Usyk was a fight fans wanted to see, while the long-awaited "Battle of Britain" between Fury and Joshua failed after talks between the two camps failed.

It made Fury fight Chisora instead.

Fury is an incredible favorite to beat Chisora considering he defeated her convincingly in the previous two fights, including a win in the 10th round when they last met eight years ago.

However, the 38-year-old Chisora has won respect throughout her 46-fight career for her ability to take punches.

This week marked Fury's stunning seven-year anniversary of Fury's success over Klitschko which first made him world champion, but also sparked a huge mental health crisis before returning to the ring with victory.

On a very cold night at home to Premier League football club Tottenham, Fury ran instead of walking, heading into the ring.

Fury weighs heavier at 121.8 kg compared to Chisora which weighs 118.2 kg.

The champion, 6 feet 9 inches (2.06 meters) tall and detained Chisora on repeated landings, including several head punches, with little consequences rewarded by her challengers.

It seemed only a matter of time before Fury won, with referee Loughlin seen speaking in the corner of Chisora at the end of the ninth round before stopping immediately after that.
