BARring Fighters Bring And Put The Flag Logo Over The Arena, UFC Is Assessed As Making A Decision

JAKARTA - The UFC made a controversial decision. They prohibit the fighters from carrying their respective national flags on top of the octagons ahead of the fight.

Not only that, but the new regulations also do not allow the presence of the flag logo or state attributes in the fighter's clothing.

The decision met strong opposition from one of the fighters, Mike Trizano. The reason is, Mike was the one who felt the impact of the ban last May for always flying the flag of the United States before the match.

"You know I always come out with an American cowboy flag and a cowboy hat," said Mike Trizano, as quoted by The Sun on Monday, November 14.

I had it (state attributes) in bags during weighting and they came to me and said 'You can't wear this'. I'm like 'What are you talking about, I wear this all the time'"

"It was never a problem when I came out with a flag, but the ban has made all (fights) now rise to the arena without a flag," he continued.

Since the ban, Mike has turned to wearing his identity as a United States fighter in another way, namely wearing a red, white, and blue logo. But after choosing that method, Mike got back bad news before last night's win over Seungwoo Choi at UFC 281.

The reason is, the most recent regulations state that the use of attributes like Mike's is not allowed either. Another aspect that irritated the fighter was because the news was conveyed before Trizano's body weight agenda last Friday.

This decision was taken as a ridiculous thing.

"They told me that I couldn't come out with my American flag cap just before the balance and told me because there was a flag on it, I couldn't wear it," said Mike.

"I was like 'You're going to take off my American flag hat? From all days, why were you going to let it go of me that day (during weight)?"

"It (regulations) must have come from above (the UFC authorities), I don't blame anyone, but I think it's a bit ridiculous," he concluded.
