Dewa United Announces 2 Foreign Basketball Players for IBL Season 2023

JAKARTA - The Dewa United Surabaya basketball team has officially announced two new foreign players, namely Anthony Johnson and Ramon Galloway for the 2023 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL).

Dewa United Surabaya CEO, Michael Oliver Wellerz, said the two foreign players became part of the team after being selected in the IBL Draft yesterday.

Anthony Johnson is a player who can play in the forward and center positions. Meanwhile, Ramon Galloway can be used by the coaching team to fill the guard position.

"The big family of Dewa United Surabaya welcomes the two new foreign players. The hope is that these two players can contribute to Dewa United Surabaya to realize the target of winning next season", said Michael, quoted by Antara, Wednesday.

Before becoming part of Dewa United Surabaya, Anthony Johnson last played in the Venezuelan Basketball League for Taurinos de Aragua.

Meanwhile, Ramon Galloway plays for the San Lazaro Club in the Dominican Basketball League.

Regarding the presence of these two new foreign players, Dewa United Surabaya coach Maximiliano Enrique Seigorman said both were by the team's needs.

Dewa United Surabaya needs players in guard and 'big man' positions.

"These two new foreign players are by the needs of the team. We really want someone who can be relied on in that position", said Maxi.
