Thailand MotoGP results: Miguel Oliveira wins, Marc Marquez Finishes Fifth

JAKARTA The mainstay rider for the Honda factory team, Marc Marquez, has not yet managed to feel the podium in the 2022 MotoGP competition. The Spaniard took fifth place in the Thailand MotoGP series at the Chang International Circuit, Buriram on Sunday afternoon, October 2, 2022.

Starting from grid 8, Marquez started the race hard. The circuit that was wet because it rained before the race started, seemed not to worry him. Marquez continued to push forward, trying to get the podium position.

After getting rid of the rider who occupies the leading start, Marco Bezzecchi, Marquez continues to try to stick to Francesco Bagnaia. Until lap 16 of 25 that must be completed, Marquez managed to keep his distance.

However, on lap 21, the French rider on the Pramac Ducati team, Johann Zarco managed to seize Marquez's position. Zarco finally entered the finish in the fourth puritan, while Marquez was fifth.

While the two leading positions are contested between Jack Miller (Ducati) and Miguel Oliveira (KTM). The Australian-Portuguese racer's rivalry reached a climax on lap 16 when Oliveira was able to overtake Miller.

Oliveira kept his distance and entered the finish first. Miller is entitled to the runner-up podium, while his fellow Ducati rider, Bagnaia is in third place.

The appearance of Marc Marquez, who has missed eight series this season due to injury, deserves a thumbs up. In the previous series, MotoGP Japan, he finished fourth.
